Mock exercise for alert management

The e-VIS Mock Exercise, held on 28 August 2025 in Stockholm, was organised to improve and clarify the alert management process in Sweden for medicinal products carrying safety features.

The exercise aimed to test and refine the procedures for handling alerts—from their creation in the system to the identification of possible falsification—with a focus on process, responsibility, and communication among all stakeholders.

The value of conducting mock exercises was identified after dialogue with the Swedish Medical Product Agency. The purpose of performing this type of exercise is to:

• Demonstrate the importance of sharing information between stakeholders and improving associated processes
• Increase our and all stakeholders’ preparedness
• Practice and learn from each other within the EMVS community as a real situation with a confirmed counterfeit will be rare
